New York (April 23, 1997) û Imation Corp. (NYSE:IMN), the imaging and information company recently spun-off from 3M, today announced Luminous™ Virtual Network™ Pro for WAM!NET, a new software product in Imation's Luminous product suite. WAM!NET is a digital delivery service from Minneapolis-based Netco Communications Corporation. The Luminous Virtual Network Pro product for WAM!NET will be offered through Imation's authorized graphic arts distributors to WAM!NET subscribers, beginning June 1997. Luminous Virtual Network Pro for WAM!NET software provides a common user interface for subscribers to Netco's WAM!NET digital delivery service, including job tickets and address books, simplifying sending and receiving of digital files. The software runs on the Macintosh workstations used by graphic artists, designers and production houses and allows for the easy transfer of files between WAM!NET sites. "One of the key elements in making a network successful is its ease-of-use," said Garry Keute, Imation Printing and Publishing Systems. "Netco's WAM!NET is a powerful and flexible digital delivery service that, when combined with Luminous Virtual Network Pro for WAM!NET, represents a first step toward integrating a workflow over a wide area network."
